Tribute To The Cats Band
In 2002, a musical tribute to The Cats began in Volendam. What was meant to be a one-time performance grew into the Tribute To The Cats Band. The count now stands at over 700 concerts, and in 2027 the band will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a concert at our venue in Assen.
With songs like One Way Wind, Lea, Marian, Why and Times Were When, the band brings The Cats' repertoire back to the stage. The multi-part vocals form an important part of the sound, as was so characteristic of the original.
The band consists of experienced musicians from the Volendam music scene, complemented by younger players who never experienced The Cats themselves, but are familiar with and appreciate the music and craftsmanship of their fellow villagers.
Expect an evening full of well-known songs, strong harmonies, and of course the music that made The Cats great from the sixties onwards. A program for enthusiasts who remember the songs from the past and for a new generation discovering the palingsound anew.
