Recreation Employee
From game show to murder mystery dinner: you create the experience
One day you're hosting a quiz, the next day you're playing detective during a murder mystery dinner. In between, you rent out a bike, assist a family with borrowing games, and perhaps even stroll through the building as our mascot, Billie.
This is what your job looks like at De Bonte Wever: one place, countless experiences. You work for hotel guests, families, and other guests, including business groups. From a creative activity to an evening full of entertainment: you ensure that guests have fun and feel welcome.
You have a lot of freedom in your work and can easily switch between different situations. You guide activities, host game shows and quizzes, and ensure that the recreation areas and game materials are ready. You also supervise the indoor playground and game facilities, make reservations, and rent out games and bikes.
No day is the same
It's precisely this variety that makes the position special. At the start of your shift, you don’t know exactly what the day will bring, but you do know that you’ll have a lot of contact with guests and often be in front of an audience.
Your responsibilities include:
guiding activities for hotel guests;
hosting game shows, quizzes, and karaoke evenings;
guiding murder mystery dinners and other group activities;
handling the game and bike rentals;
supervising the indoor playground and game facilities;
answering questions and assisting guests;
making and processing reservations;
participating in our theater show;
taking on the role of our mascot Billie;
ensuring a successful activity both individually and with colleagues.
Guest-oriented and full of energy
You don’t have to be on stage every day. However, you should enjoy connecting with people, standing in front of a group, and involving people in an activity. You understand what a guest needs and know when to go the extra mile.
Additionally, you bring:
a hospitable and presentable appearance;
ease in interacting with different types of guests;
strong presentation skills and theatrical properties;
an independent work style and good teamwork with colleagues;
the ability to switch quickly and prioritize tasks;
proficiency in both Dutch and English;
knowledge of the German language is a plus;
being able to sing is a plus;
first aid and/or emergency response training, or a willingness to obtain these.
Working in a place where many things come together
De Bonte Wever is a place where hotel, catering, sports, relaxation, and events come together. As a recreation employee, you will deal with many different guests and activities.
Of course, there are benefits in return. You receive:
a fun and dynamic company to work in;
classification and salary in accordance with the Horeca CAO;
nice secondary employment conditions, such as:
free sports (fitness, aqua sports, and more!);
free swimming;
discount on swimming lesson subscription;

participation in the Pension Fund Horeca and Catering;
participation in a bicycle lease plan (depending on contract);
good, free parking facilities for both (electric) cars and bikes;
a birthday treat;
every day a delicious fresh soup in the canteen during lunch;
an active personnel association ‘De Hunebedjes’.
One place, countless experiences
Do you get energy from that variety and does it sound fun to constantly surprise guests?
